Rear Spring Assist Kit:
The Sprinter Rear Spring Assist Kits are designed specifically for your Sprinter when carrying loads of 2000 pounds or more. The spring rate is progressive. The kits work in conjunction with the factory springs giving you assist when carrying heavy loads but remain passive under normal no load driving conditions. The spring kits assist the factory suspension when under heavy load or body sway situations giving you improved stability, reduced body roll and reduced tail wag when towing heavy loads. During every day driving you will notice little difference. When you encounter those annoying dips pulling into or out of parking lots, you will realize the rear end sway of your Sprinter has been reduced.
The Spring Assist Kits offer 1700 lbs., 2000 lbs. or 2500 lbs. of assist depending on Sprinter model. Each spring pack consists of two leaves with spring bumpers at each end of the longest spring. Spring lengths and arch are designed to work with each specific factory spring assembly. On the Sprinter 2500 model, the assist spring bumper's height, width and density is a design that works well when used with the factory parabolic springs . Spring assist bumper contact with the factory spring occurs with a load of approximately 1500 lbs.. The 2500 kits will raise the rear body height of the vehicle by approximately 7/8" and the 3500 kits will raise the rear body height of the vehicle by approximately 1.0".
We strongly recommended that a professional technician install your Spring Assist Kit. If equipped, adjusting the ALB system is required to maintain factory braking dynamics. However, if you have the ability and are equipped with the proper tools you can perform the installation in 2-3 hours. It is recommended that you do not exceed the manufacturer’s GVW and that tires with E load range are used. All Spring Assist Kits come with a 1 year part warranty.
