During an complete Air Conditioning Service the Freon is removed, the system is evacuated removing moisture and debris and the system is recharged with Freon. The key to this service is the removal of moisture and debris. If left in the system, they will cause premature failure of the compressor and other components of the system.
One option for older vehicles is the conversion of the system from R12 refrigerant to the environmentally safe 134a refrigerant. There is a higher up front cost but the subsequent serving will be less. R12 currently costs about $90.00 per pound versus $20.00 for the 134a. Give us a call about converting your system over to the more environmentally friendly 134a.
